Bal Shiksha Kendra facilities for children of migrant labour and women working as daily wage workers in factories, road construction and domestic help are being provided along with Nursery and Primary education in Delhi, NCR Region and our branches all over the country. Apart from health checkups, their nutritional needs are also taken care of. The centers in Delhi and the NCR Region are being run by our Samiti members with the tireless efforts of its Convener Chhama Kushwha. She is running four centers in Mehrauli area in Delhi for the under-privileged children and women. A genuine worker, she is helping people at the grass root level, not only in elementary education, but also by imparting moral values and economic help when needed. A genuine attempt is made to make these children self dependent along with their education. The Kendra run at Andheria Morh is for the children of underprivileged working women where food, clothing and play facilities are also provided besides free education. At the Gyatri Niwas Center the children are prepared for admission into primary schools. All basic needs like reading, writing and books are taken care of under the personal supervision of Mrs. Kuswaha. The parents are kept informed of their progress.
Our activities are based on the following objectives:
• Provide free counselling services to women and families for harmony
• Providing free temporary shelter at Snehalaya Short Stay Home
• Free legal aid for the poor
• Education and nutrition for the children of under-privileged section of our society
• Spreading adult literacy through our centers
• Rural and urban health care for the poor
• Empowering women, be it political, economic, social or cultural
• Enhancing the socio-economic status of women
• Organizing seminars/workshops on issues related to women, children, consumer, education, medical, etc
• Spreading awareness among women about their rights and other issues
• Eradicating the Dowry System deeply rooted in our society
• Fighting against social evils like Sexual Harassment and other injustices affecting women/girls
• Have programmes for consumer awareness, fight against black marketing and adulteration
